La Cuisine was established in 1981 by Ben and Patty Bloom in a shoreline cottage in Guilford. We began as a bakery, with Ben and Patty scouring the New York Times and a few great cookbooks for interesting twists on the old favorites. When La Cuisine moved to the Guilford Green, more savory items were added to the repertoire, and catering soon followed. A reputation for outstanding events featuring great ingredients, prepared with creativity and care, artfully presented, and served by a warm, caring staff continues to this day.

In 2006, Ben’s son, the current owner Brendan Bloom joined the business and La Cuisine opened the Café and Market. This sun filled space finished with natural wood and warm earth tones, offers our customers a way to enjoy our handcrafted and delicious fare on a daily basis. The Café and Market offer a wide array of seasonal dishes to be enjoyed on the premises, at home, at the office, on a picnic, or in any situation that calls for eating well!

No matter the venue, our vision has remained clear: high quality ingredients, local, sustainable whenever possible, handcrafted to showcase their exceptional flavors; presented in a creative manner that does not detract from their unique properties, and served by a well trained and warm, welcoming staff.
