La Cuisine was established in 1981 by Ben and Patty Bloom in a shoreline cottage in Guilford.  We began as a bakery, scouring the New York Times and a few great cookbooks for interesting twists on the old favorites.  We quickly became known for all butter baking, be it delectable breakfast treats, cookies and bars, or specialty cakes.

A move to the Guilford Green allowed us to add more savory items to the repertoire, and catering soon followed.  The wave of interest in off premise catering that Martha Stewart rode so well carried us with it.  A reputation for outstanding events featuring great ingredients, prepared with creativity and care, artfully presented, and served by a warm, caring staff continues to this day.

In 2007 La Cuisine opened the Café and Market.  A sun filled space is finished with natural wood and warm earth tones, and offers our customers a way to enjoy our wholesome and delicious fare on a daily basis.   The  Café and Market offer a wide array of daily and seasonal dishes to be enjoyed on the premises, at home, at the office, on a picnic, or in any situation that calls for eating well! It is the perfect spot for quick, tasty lunches, hors d’oeuvre, gourmet food platters, special holiday meals, and ready-to-serve family dinners.

2011 saw La Cuisine expand to include all food and beverage operations at the New Haven Country Club.  The Club is always available for non-member functions, and provides our client base with an on-premise option coupled with our exceptional culinary talents, creative event design, and high service standards.  Available year round for parties from 20 – 500, the Club is a stunning setting for every type of event.
